He has a fantastic record against all the big teams as well, especially Liverpool. This was evident when Spurs faced Liverpool in their Premier League tie on Saturday. Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are in a fierce title race against Manchester City and were ahead by two points on that day.

However, Man City had a game in hand over them. The match went incredibly well for them as it ended up being a 1-1 draw. Son Heung-Min’s second-half goal was canceled out by a Luis Diaz goal in the 74th minute.

Antonio Conte lashes out

After the match, Klopp lamented the chances that his team had missed and said that Liverpool deserved to win the tie. However, these comments did not go down well with Conte.

The Italian manager said that after his team’s analysis, they believed that Spurs should’ve won the tie. He also wanted Klopp to focus on his own team rather than finding excuses for dropping points.

We analysed after and if there was one team that should have won it was Spurs. I think Jurgen realised Liverpool gained a point rather than losing two. It’s important to be focused on your team after the game rather than look for an alibi over what went wrong,” Conte said.

While the advantage is definitely with Arsenal right now, Tottenham can get the fourth spot in the table if they win all their games and Arsenal slip up. It’ll be interesting to see which team will finish on top when they face each other mid-week.
